Watson’s is looking for an enthusiastic and hard working individual to fill our Garden Shop Manager position. Retail purchasing and/or management experience is preferred.


  • Manage the Garden Shop department including staff training, purchasing, merchandising, etc.
  • Willingness and passion to gain product knowledge, become an expert in the field.
  • Lead by example.
  • Manage a monthly, quarterly and annual budget.
  • Participate in Company Meetings and keep staff educated about products.
  • Order and manage inventory.
  • Gain approval from owners regarding new product introductions or changes to key product lines.
  • Handle customer requests and special orders.
  • Receive deliveries and use discernment regarding product quality and follow up on necessary claims and credits with vendors.
  • Build vendor relationships with integrity, based on company values.
  • Establish retail pricing.
  • Handle paperwork including purchase orders, receiving, and coding for Accounting in a timely manner.
  • Spend the majority of your time on the sales floor assisting customers.
  • For the months of March through June be willing to work most if not all weekends.
  • Travel to Distributor Shows for Early Order Buys.
